Operating instructions, installation and first start

Caution

Note that the Power Module should not be connected to the power cable when it is plugged into the Mainboard! The Mainboard requires a precise voltage cycle, and if the Power Module is plugged in while powered, the Mainboard may not start.

Note

This guide assumes a “first startup.” It is recommended not to connect any cables other than power and Ethernet at this time. For detailed instructions on individual modules, please refer to the module pages!

Now, insert the modules into the Mainboard. Press the modules first on the connector side and then on the opposite side (light, LED) into the connectors by applying gentle pressure. It is recommended to insert the modules (Ethernet, WLAN, etc.) first next to the Power Module. Make sure not to leave slots between the modules, as this can affect mechanical stability. All slots offer the same technical capabilities, but the positioning can affect the operating temperature.

Now, connect the power cable to the Power Module and then to the power outlet. The light on the Power Module should now turn yellow, followed by all other modules except the USB modules. The LEDs on the Mainboard should also start blinking. Make sure the switch on the Mainboard is turned on (to the right).

Connection and Initial Setup

1) Ethernet/Cable

Wait until all lights show “green,” especially those of the Ethernet Module.
Now open the following URL in a browser on the device that must be on the same network:
http://noreya-nexus.local/nexuscontrolui
Please note that VPNs, custom DNS servers, or firewalls may block this option.
In that case, proceed to step 3.

2) WLAN Access Point

Search for the 2.4GHz WLAN network “NEXUS SETUP XXXX” with your device.
Connect using the password “OPENNEXUS”.
Now open the following URL on your device:
http://noreya-nexus.local/nexuscontrolui
Please note that VPNs, custom DNS servers, or firewalls may block this option.
In that case, proceed to step 3.

3) Without a Network Interface

Connect a USB cable to the Mainboard.

Now, install our Mainboard Finder Tool:

Install and run the tool.
The tool displays all devices connected via USB and found over the network.

Note that you have the necessary access rights for the Serial Interface on your system!

3.1) Alternative

It is also possible to establish a connection with the interface through any terminal. Use the following settings:

Baudrate (Speed): 115200
Datenbits: 8-bit
Stopbits: 1-bit
Partiybits: none
Flowcontrol: none

Once the terminal is open, enter any characters and press “ENTER.”
Now, the IP addresses (if connected to the network), as well as the username and password, should be displayed.

Open the address http://IP-ADDRESS/nexuscontrolui in your browser and follow the installation instructions.
